COVID19: Don’t welcome visitors without nose mask in your homes – Minister
Western Region Minister, Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah is cautioning residents in the region to turn away visitors without nose masks from their homes. According to him, it is mandatory for Ghanaians to wear nose masks, as cases of the coronavirus in the country keep increasing. Hon. Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah also warned residents to put on masks in all public places within the region.
“Everybody in the region must put on nose masks. If anybody is visiting your home, and the person has no mask on, turn the person away. We must wear the nose masks everywhere we go, to reduce the spread of the virus,” Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah told Host of Skyy Power FM’s Jolly Breakfast Show, Samuel Kojo Brace in an interview.
Case count in Ghana currently stands at 2,169, with 229 recoveries and 18 deaths. The Western Region has 9 confirmed cases, with some suspected cases currently awaiting results.
The region, according to the minister, has instituted measures to ensure physical distancing protocols are complied with by all. Businesses and organizations have as well been directed to respond to the directive by ensuring their employees put on nose masks.
