The various Contact Tracing Teams in the affected districts have been activated.

“Specimen samples are to be taken from all contacts and sent to Noguchi. Contacts should be examined and those with symptoms quarantined either self or facility based” the directorate noted.

In furtherance of which, the Directorate adviced that staff brace up for a potential rise in COVID 19 cases.

“In view of the exponential nature of infections by Covid-19 we need to brace ourselves for more cases. We should test all suspected cases, trace contacts and treat those affected. We need to strengthen our health education messages and emphasize on preventive measures”

As at yesterday, the total number of samples taken  from suspected cases, and pending laboratory test were 309.
