President of the Ghana Bar Association Anthony Forson Junior has advised that the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo deals swiftly with matters of corruption and bribery as failure of which would be an indictment on his person as a champion of the rule of law.

Mr. Forson Jnr admonished the President to do his best at referring and tracking progress of investigations into corruption cases against public officials, and routinely update the Ghanaian community of it.

“Mr President, some of the people you appoint into position of trust will let you down but the only way you can continue to maintain your stature as an incorruptible person in the eyes of the populace at large is to quickly refer any person caught in any corrupt misdeed to the appropriate institution of the state and track the progress of all investigations  and let the public know the outcome because it is the popular belief that once such referral is made nothing would be heard again” Mr Anthony Forson Junior stated.

“Mr President, your junior colleagues expect you to be as tough as the Nana Akufo Addo who straddles our law reports notwithstanding the mellowing effects of advancement in life” he charged.

He made this remarks at the 2019/2020 Ghana Bar Association Annual General conference, on theme “Enhancing National Security through the Rule of Law: Prospects and Challenges”
