President Nana Addo has terminated the appointment of the Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Gilbert Asmah, with immediate effect.
He is to be replaced by Mr. Benjamin Kesse, a Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party in the area.
Earlier, it was rumoured that a letter informing him of termination was delivered through the Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, after a cabinet meeting last weekend.
It was alleged that, charges were raised against his conduct as the Presidential representative in the area; as he being involved in some intra-party conflicts, dabbling in chieftaincy matters and other “unsanctioned” acts.
This news has been received with mixed reactions. Many fear it will further incite the intense in-party conflicts between the “Duker (MP) and Asmah (MCE) faction”.
Attached are letters from the Presidency informing him of his disappointment, and the appointment of Mr. Benjamin Kesse
