Boot that ‘Anti-dev’t MP’ out of parliament- Wassa East DCE charges youth
The youth in the Wassa East Constituency have been entreated to oust the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Isaac Adjei Mensah, from political power, if they have any expectation of having their area developed.
Describing the parliamentary representative as an ‘anti-development’ agent, the District Chief Executive for the area, Wilson Arthur said strides made by himself and government had suffered serious sabotage meted out by the legislator.
Speaking at a Constituency Youth Conference held in Daboase today, the DCE entreated the youth to be minded of their personal and community development in the coming election, and vote wisely.
He recounted that two most promising projects captured under government’s famous ‘One District One Factory’ initiative; a Quarry Factory that would crush waste rocks deposited at the Golden Star Resources, Akyempim Mines into quarry products, and a Rubber processing Factory at Dompim; have all suffered some setbacks as a result of the MP’s undue interference.
“Immediately ‘Adjei’ heard about it, he marshalled all efforts to sabotage it. He doesn’t want anything good for you the youth. He fear he would lose the elections should these projects materialize” he the added.
“Despite these machinations, we have managed to succumb the forces. These projects are coming on-stream” he stated with some conviction.
Mr. Wilson Arthur stressed that the aspirations of the youth and the people could only be met [in fullest], if they grant him the opportunity to become their parliamentary representative in the December 7 elections.
“The MP has all the resources and opportunities to develop this constituency. I contested this parliamentary position but couldn’t get the endorsement of the people yet you still see me to be your Member of Parliament.
“I understand perfectly because you could testify to the great works I have done even as a DCE. Indeed, in my capacity as the DCE, my contribution surpasses that of the MP” he said.
Minister for Railway Development, Joe Ghartey who was present at the event, charged the electorate to support Mr. Wilson Arthur’s bid for the parliamentary position in the coming election.
“I’ve prayed, and had that vision that my place in parliament is guaranteed, and so I wish for my brother Willie to join me in the house.
“A president needs good members of parliament. I know the exceptional qualities of Wilson Arthur. I know him for more than twenty years, and I trust he can deliver” he said.
The Constituency Youth Organiser, Anthony Kessey on behalf of the youth and other party faithful, promised to work assiduously to deliver the constituency for the New Patriotic Party, and the parliamentary candidate, Wilson Arthur in the December 2020 election.
