The chiefs and people of Assorko in the Shama District of the Western Region, together with the Ksam Essilfie Medical Foundation (KSEMF)/Boys and Girls Club of Ghana (BGCG) have commissioned a newly built six (6) unit classroom block for the community.
The project was supported by the KSEMF/BGCG, an international Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) after the community, through the Chief of Assorko, Nana Bekrom II made an official appeal to them.

According to the chief, pupils had to travel long distances to neighbouring communities in the Shama District to attend school so they saw the need for this initiative.
The Nana Bekrom Model D/A Primary School was handed over to the Ghana Education Service (GES) on the day of the commissioning.
The Chief of Assorko, Nana Bekrom II, congratulated the people of Assorko for their tremendous support and contribution towards the construction of the school and urged them to be patriotic community members.

He called on parents in the community to see the importance of education and give the maximum support to their children to receive the needed quality education.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Shama District, Mr. Ebenezer Dadzie applauded the Assorko community and urged them to continue building their community since the government can’t do all.

He said the community has a visionary leader who is not looking up to the government for development but the people.
Mr. Dadzie said it’s the people that make up the government and everyone should do their best to be patriotic citizens and continue aiding in developmental projects.
