AHANTA West: NDC PC, Kwame Aboagye, dead!

He was elected as Parliamentary candidate for the NDC in 2019 with the hope that he will once again wrestle the seat from the NPP in the general election this year, but little did the party know that he won’t live to that day.  This is the sad story of George Kwame Aboagye, immediate past Member of Parliament for the Ahanta West Constituency.

Information reaching Skyy News has it that Hon. Aboagye, a former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Promotions Center (GIPC), died today at the Central Regional Teaching Hospital in Cape Coast after a short illness.

Family relations are tight-lipped on the cause of death of the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) legislator.

George Kwame Aboagye, was the GIPC Boss under the then President John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills, where he managed to help bring a lot of investment into Ghana. Having excelled at the position, the NDC fell on him in 2012, when they needed a candidate to wrestle power from the NPP who had controlled the Ahanta West Constituency for sixteen (16) years.

And  for the first time since 1993, NDC was successful in winning the parliamentary seat in Ahanta West, and they were willing he could repeat the same feat in 2020 but that was never meant to be.
