Ahanta West MP resigns as Minister for Chieftaincy & Religious Affairs
President Nana Akufo-Addo has accepted the resignation of Mr Ebenzer Kojo Kum, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahanta West as the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

A press release dated February 3, 2023, stated that Mr Kojo Kum submitted his resignation letter to the president on Friday, February 3. The president thanked him for his services to the nation and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Kojo Kum, who has been bedridden for almost a year after suffering a stroke is now feeling better than before when he organised a thanksgiving service on January 8, at the Wesley Methodist Church in Agona Nkwanta to thank God for sparing his life.
According to him, he has suffered dramatically and almost lost his life to the disease, however, if he is alive today, it is necessary to thank his God.
Hon Kum shed tears whiles giving his speech and gave his final thanks to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo for his trust in him and continuous support.
Also, the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr Dan Botwe has been appointed to act as caretaker MP until a substantive replacement.
