The Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region will soon have a multipurpose youth complex after, member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Ebenezer Kojo Kum cut sod for commencement of the project.

When complete, the facility which will cost 7.9 million Ghana cedis will have a 3000 seater capacity auditorium, a sports shop, a tennis court, an ICT center and a restaurant. The project would be funded by the Ministry for Special Development Initiative through the one million per constituency initiative.

Speaking to Skyy News’ Abraham Mensah, Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Ebenezer Kojo Kum said the project was considered given the interest and need that the constituents have for youth and sports development.

”This project is suppose to cater for the youth. So you will see that we’ve combined entertainment and education.

“You see that the focus has always been on soccer. This is way of introducing some of the lesser known sports and encouraging other people to participate” he said.

The project is expected to be completed within two years by RAJGA Limited.
