Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko has again dropped Kwabena Owusu from his team to face Ivory Coast in today’s semi final tie with Ivory Coast.

Kwabena Owusu broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute and added a second goal four minutes to full time after coming coming off the bench for Robin Polley at half time and will have to have a similar impact in todays encounter if he plays.

Ibrahim Tanko decision to make no changes to the side that beat Mali by 2-0 is a little surprising given Owusu’s heroics.

Goalkeeper Kwame Baah retains his position and will be assisted by Kingsley Fobi, Edward Sarpong, Zackaria Fuseini, Habib Mohammed in defense. Midfielders Emmanuel Lomotey, Yaw Yeboah, Michael Agbekpornu will offer protection to the defense while supplying ammunition for Evans Mensah, Robin Polley and Samuel Obeng in attack.

The match kicks off at 14:00 hrs GMT.

Meanwhile, hosts Egypt will take on South Africa at the Cairo International Stadium in the other semi final encounter.

Winners of both semi- final clashes will earn an automatic slot to represent Africa at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and obviously qualify for the final of the ongoing U23 AFCON Tournament in Egypt.

The third placed team in the competition will join the winner and the 1st runner up to the 2020 Olympic Games automatically.

TAGGED: Black Meteors, Kwabena Owusu, U23 AFCON
