About 255 personnel recruited to guard Forest Reserves in Tarkwa

The Tarkwa Nsuaem District Manager for the Forestry Commission, Mr. Lawrence Fosu has disclosed that a total of 255 youth have been recruited into the commission to protect the forest reserves in the area. He adds that these persons have been rolled onto the commission’s tree planting program to improve afforestation in the country.

Mr. Fosu is thankful to the Chief Executive of the Ghana Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie for the support given the district.

He promised to work at cramping down on illegal loggers and other activities in the area.
