Her Excellency the Second Lady of Ghana, Samira Bawumia has inspired the Ghanaian youth to challenge the odds in today’s life, and commit effort at building a better future for the country.
In her address at an event organized by the National Youth Authority to mark the celebration of the International Youth Day, charged that the youth explore and adapt to innovative but sustainable ideas, ‘especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic’ to improve their lives.
She noted that the youth constitute a larger population of the world today, and for which reason the government recognizes and supports their aspirations for development.
“COVID-19 has taken a lot from us but we can take advantage of innovation and creativity to build a better country amidst the challenges. Now more than ever, your voice matters, and your ideas also matter.
“…turn every obstacle that you encounter into an opportunity. To learn and to innovate, embrace the challenges, get ahead of the challenges if possible and soar up high like eagles. Remember to celebrate each and every one of the successes as you go along.”
She emphasized that the drive for change lies in the capabilities and enthusiasm of the youth.
“On this International Day for the Youth, I call on all young people of our country to champion and foster dramatic progress urgently needed for social change. I encourage you to continue to be the front-liners in the fight against social injustice, exploitation, and inequality.”
