Ghanaian triple jumper Nadia Eke has opened up about the struggles that exist when you compete in the sport without a professional contract.
Eke has expressed appreciation to the Ghana Olympic Committee for enrolling her in the Olympic Scholarship programme which has supported her activities during this period where COVID-19 has decimated the sport.
The Olympic Scholarship provides funding for selected countries in an Olympic cycle, which covers training and travel for competitions.
Nadia Eke is one of only two Ghanaian athletes to have qualified for the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (now slated for August 2021).
She is the National triple jump record holder and has shared her grievances how about difficult it is for athletes like her to get sponsorship because people are losing interest in athletics.
