Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta has boasted that the Nana Addo led government has delivered on its promises at bring some relief and development to the people.
Ken Ofori Atta in his presentation of the 2020 Budget Statement and Economic Policy in parliament today [14 November, 2019] recounted that the operationalisation of the 2017, 2018, and 2019 budgets have supported the restoration of the Ghanaian economy whiles advancing development in the country.
He noted that the country was plunged into serious economic crisis when it took over political power from the John Mahama-NDC government in 2016, yet; “By January 2017 the nation was hopeful because change had come”.
“In the 2017 budget we illustrated the NPP government’s expectations, aspirations and hope for Ghana’s future using the miracle of Jesus when he fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fishes” he exclaimed.
He defended that “the budget was going to sow the seeds for growth and jobs- an ‘Asempa Budget”, which has been fulfilled.
Ken Ofori Atta said the opposition party; NDC in their disbelieve, ridiculed the NPP government for presenting an unrealistic budget.
“It was here Mr. Speaker that my honourable colleagues across the isle un-witheringly prophesied with their full 419 placards in support of the program that-‘My god shall supply all your needs according to the riches in glory to Jesus Christ. We thank God for their prophecy for the fulfillment as you see, the twelve extra baskets from the two fishes and five loaves are here with us” he retorted.
