Trump’s election fate is a matter of poor crisis management, a product of leadership failure. Trump coronavirus let-downs cost him this re-election brouhaha. COVID is the BLOW! The American president had continually denied that COVID-19 was a weighty problem that got to be tackled with tact and seriousness. He comments, and attitude, were rather very carefree and the playful type, allowing the world most disastrous pandemic to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans. You don’t joke with the life of a SINGLE AMERICAN, no way, and Trump is too experienced to have known this. Even when the American citizens were apparently on the rooftops daring him of the political consequences, Donald Trump remained adamant and tried to out-macho Covid and signs of an imminent election defeat. The economy is in near comatose, and recovery figures don’t give much hope of an early headway. That is how hard-hitting the COVID has impacted on the lives of the ordinary American.
The bearing on Ghana’s election is about HOW NANA ADDO HAS MANAGED COVID 19 PANDEMIC (CRISIS), compared to HOW MAHAMA HANDLED DUMSOR CRISIS, period! That is proper comparison! It takes some intellectual investment to win the confidence of the masses, and consequently, win their endorsement. Of course, there are other several factors that would play out in Ghana’s December Polls, but you know how Nana Addo has managed COVID CRISIS and how MAHAMA managed DUMSOR CRISIS.
So, people should stop exciting themselves with linking the American elections history to that of theirs. It is just silly to feel horny or attain erection when you see a woman with big butts following her husband. You must work towards getting yours because that is not your handiwork, and more so, your fate is not in there!
Back to America, Trump was a ‘bomb’ on the campaign platform, with some horrible debating strategies driven by emotions and needless accusations. Worse is that he ruined the first debate and missed an opportunity to redeem himself of earlier politically damaging comments. His messaging against Joe Biden was bleary, wayward and often jumbled. The chorus of trying to portray him as a deep-seated socialist and a crooked corporate person became so monotonous. At a time when that COVID and the economy were the prime issues within the political conversation, Trump was fixated on the tangential with no verifiable alternatives. Clearly, Trump had not run an organized and a diplomatic campaign, and the telling effect is the dwindling numbers that are showing now.
This should lead the discussion here in Ghana, not this lazy and elementary comparisons.
