Whether you’re a newbie to running or you consider yourself a pro at it, you’re bound to have encountered at least one of these running scenarios.
Read on and relive your most tiring, angry, fun, least and most favourite run right here.
The “energised” run
It’s the run all runners strive to go on. It’s fun, fulfilling, and it’s the reason why runners get addicted to running in the first place.
The “dead tired” run
For days when sticking to a training schedule feels impossible – this is the run where runners just don’t feel like running at all. The dead tired run is a real struggle, but one that true runners will not back away from. That’s right, KEEP RUNNING!
The “pig out after” run
Different runners are motivated by different things. This run is the one where food is the primary motivation. After months and months of training and finally having the finish line in sight, the end of a pig out run is the perfect time to realise dreams of gorging on pizza, chips, milkshake, and all your well-earned recovery food cravings.
The “chafing” run
It happens suddenly and without any warning and runners absolutely HATE it. It can strike anywhere from the nipples, to inner thighs, underarms, and even the neckline, leaving runners saying “OUCH! This really chafes, but I MUST.KEEP.GOING.” Yeah, burn baby burn.
The “second thoughts” run
You’ve been there. That breathless, stiff legs moment during a run when you begin to ask yourself WHY you are doing this in the first place, or why do this to yourself AT ALL; don’t let it get to you because it happens to the best of us. When you’re out there running on your own, your thoughts just seem to run away with you. Well, guess what? Stop overthinking and keep your eye on the prize (but… what is the prize, anyway?).
The dreaded “treadmill” run
Winter’s here and it’s too cold to go out for a run. What’s a runner to do? Guess you’re stuck with old Mr. Treadmill in the attic. It’s time to get your running shoes on and go on the most boring, most mechanical run of your life. Good luck.
The “rainy” run
So, you thought running in the rain was cool, huh? Yeah, five minutes in and you’re dreading ever leaving your house in the first place. Well, at least you had your five minutes of fun. Now, go back home and take a nice warm shower.
