A total of seven health workers with the Kwesiminstim government hospital in the Efia Kwesiminstim Municipality of the Western Region have contracted Coronavirus.
The administrator of the hospital, Mr. Felix Kesse who confirmed the information to Skyy Power FM indicated that the affected health workers have been put in isolation.
He further added that the movements of the affected health workers are being monitored strictly, and the hospital has begun tracing other persons who have come into contact with them.
“This is a problem every health facility in the country is facing. I’m sure for now every hospital has had some workers contracting the virus. It is not peculiar with the Kwesimintsim hospital. We cannot hide this information. The truth is that seven of our workers have contracted the virus. We have asked all of them to be in isolation and we have started contact tracing”. Mr. Felix Kesse noted.
According to him, the situation has not affected the running of the hospital. He says the facility still operates full 24hour service.
He noted that the hospital generally has recorded thirty-six positive cases. He notes that the isolation center is not crowded yet.
We have cases in our facility but they are not severe. So our isolation center is not yet crowded. But for now, we have no one in the isolation. From January till now, we have tested a total of 36 positive cases”. Felix Kesse noted.
He further added that there is enough PPEs supply in the facility.
