The Western Regional Minster, Dr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah says more jobs will be created in Ghana after the construction of a petroleum hub in Jomoro.
Reporting on the State Of The Western Region at the Ministry of Information in Accra on Wednesday, November 16, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Takoradi Constituency said, about 680,000 jobs will be created after the Development of a Petroleum Hub in Jomoro.
He said, “In line with the government’s policy to make the Western Region the hub for oil and gas activities, the master plan recommended the siting of the hub enclave within the Western Region in Nzema Traditional area in the Jomoro District of the Western Region.”
The key infrastructure from the project will be jetties, storage tanks, refineries, liquified natural gas facilities, power plant petrochemical, plant and fertilizer plant.
Ancilliary infrastructure will be a water treatment plant, water management centre, light to medium industrial area, security and emergency response and a residential and commercial area.
Speaking on the benefits of the petroleum hub, he indicated the creation of 680,000 jobs, the export value of $60bn and the project will bring about a major growth pole.
